MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A social worker was arrested during the early Thursday morning in Murfreesboro for solicitation of a minor.
Brandon Sopko was taken into custody just after midnight at a parking lot on Greenland Drive by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Murfreesboro police.
Authorities began investigating the 27-year-old man last week after a TBI agent responded to an advertisement on social media allegedly posted by Sopko indicating he was seeking a teen girl for the purpose of sex.
During the course of the investigation, an agent posed as a minor female and communicated with Sopko.
The pair arranged to meet early Thursday morning for sex, a police report stated.
A police report indicated Sopko was taken into custody without incident.
He is charged with solicitation of a minor by electronic means and was booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $7,000 bond.
